The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and the Turkish-American National Steering Committee (TASC). Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Yıldız, Turkey's Ambassador to Washington Hasan Murat Mercan, Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Sedat Önal, New York Consul General Reyhan Özgür and YTB President Abdullah Eren attended the event.

Many Turkish companies and NGOs opened stands in the festival area at Clifton Memorial Park, and Turkish food was served to the participants.

Participants accompanied the songs performed by artists from Turkey and waved Turkish flags.

Turkish Day marches, which started as a protest march on the streets of New York in response to the martyrdom of Turkish diplomats by the Armenian terrorist organization ASALA, and later turned into a festival to promote Turkish culture, are held every year in various cities of the country, especially in New York and New Jersey.
