Virgin Galactic carries tourists into space for the first time

Virgin Galactic, owned by British businessman Richard Branson, carried tourists to space for the first time. Mother and daughter were among the passengers going to space. On the other hand, the price of tickets to space reached 450 thousand dollars after the last price hikes.

Virgin Galactic, a spacecraft manufacturer and space tourism company, has carried tourists into space for the first time since its first commercial flight last June. The spacecraft VSS Unity, which took off with the carrier plane known as Eve, which took off from Spaceport America in the US state of New Mexico at 08:30 local time, ignited its engines to separate from Eve at an altitude of 15 kilometers. Unity then reached a height of 85 kilometers from the earth with its own engines and reached the zero gravity environment. Tourists had the opportunity to experience the zero-gravity environment for about 5 minutes. After about 90 minutes of flight, VSS Unity successfully landed on Spaceport America.

They became the first mother-daughter to travel to space

The spacecraft included 18-year-old Anastatia Mayers and her mother Keisha Schahaff, who won tickets in a competition as tourists, as well as 80-year-old former British Olympic athlete Jon Goodwin, who bought tickets for the flight. Goodwin became the first Olympic athlete and second Parkinson patient in space, and 18-year-old Mayers is the second youngest person to go into space. Mayers and her mother, Schahaff, became the first mother-daughter to travel into space.

The first commercial flight was made last month

Last month, Virgin Galactic successfully completed its first commercial flight, taking three people into space on a flight paid for by the Italian Air Force and the Italian National Research Council.
