"We aim for 800 million tourists in 10 years."

Oya Narin, the President of the Turkey Tourism Investors Association (TTYD), released a New Year's message in which she provided an assessment of the year 2023 and outlined the goals for 2024.

"We will achieve the target of $56 billion in revenue" Oya Narin, expressing the goal of attracting 800 million tourists to Turkey within 10 years, stated the following in her statement: "As we enter the year 2024, which marks the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we welcome it as the tourism sector with new hopes and a clear vision for the future. While wishing to leave behind the great sorrows experienced in our country and the world in 2023, as tourism professionals, we are at peace with having contributed to alleviating these sorrows and being able to highlight our country in global competition. At the beginning of 2023, we set out with ambitious goals. We collaborated as a sector to reach the Ministry's target of 60 million tourists and $56 billion in revenue. The data from the first 11 months show that we will achieve the $56 billion revenue target, and we will come very close to our goal with 57 million visitors. An increase of 11% in the number of visitors and a 12% increase in tourism revenues provide positive data for our tourism vision for 2033."

"Over the next 10 years, we anticipate 800 million tourists visiting Turkey."

While maintaining our position among the top 5 countries in terms of visitor numbers, the improvements achieved in all tourism indicators, along with our sustainable and high-quality facilities, continue to strengthen our position in global tourism. International research also supports our expectations with predictions that Turkey will surpass France as the second most visited country in Europe in 2024. Turkish tourism has reached its current position with valuable accommodation facilities, airports, and transportation initiatives over the past 20 years, and we owe our gratitude to our President for his valuable contributions to Turkish tourism during this period. In 2024, aiming for a revenue target of $60 billion with a growth rate of 10%, we plan to host 2.5 million visitors in health tourism, exceed 2 million visitors in cruise tours, achieve development in all tourism modes, and spread tourism throughout the year and the country through new investments. We aim to increase our contribution to GDP from the current 5.5% to 7.5% in 2033 and raise our tourism revenues to $135 billion. Over the next 10 years, we anticipate 800 million tourists visiting Turkey.

"Target of $71 Billion in Tourism Revenue by 2026"

The Medium-Term Program (OVP) assigns a significant task to the Tourism sector in achieving a current account balance in tourism by reaching a tourism revenue level of $71 billion in 2026. In order to accomplish this task, the tourism sector should benefit fully from export supports and strategic sector incentives. As we enter 2024, the tourism sector is rising among the strategic sectors of the Turkish economy with investments. As the Turkey Tourism Investors Association (TTYD), we have invested and continue to invest approximately $60 billion in tourism with our members consisting of large-scale and high-quality tourism investment companies. Our members own capacities exceeding 200,000 beds, 20,000 airplane seats, 15 airports, 15 marinas with a capacity of 15,000 yachts, and all cruise ports in our country. In our 35th year, we continue our efforts by providing vision and global connections to our sector, including the recently completed Tourism Investment Forum - TIF2023 with high-level participation. As we continue our path in the light of the principles of Atatürk and the principles of the Republic, in our 100th year, I welcome 2024 with confidence, and I wish the new year to bring new hopes and prosperity to our country and the world."
