"Keklik Creek Ecotourism Area" in Kars is expanding

Keklik Creek Ecotourism Area, which was built by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in a region approximately 7 kilometers away from Sarıkamış, has a waterfall, observation terraces, a photo-taking area, a 650-meter walking path and seating areas. Sarıkamış Tourism Association (SATURDER) made a request to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to include the "Crying Rock", small waterfalls and Duck Lake in this ecotourism area. Thereupon, it is aimed to include the region, which Sarıkamış Forestry Management Directorate made a preliminary investigation, into the ecotourism field by making a comprehensive study later on. "We experience tourism compressed into 3 months in winter" SATURDER President Serkant Aykul reminded the AA correspondent that Sarıkamış is mostly known for winter and ski tourism. Stating that the district also amazes those who see it with its natural beauties, forests, streams, waterfalls, rivers and endemic vegetation, Aykul said, "We are in a place that offers a visual feast, no matter which month you come to, all four seasons of the year. Of course, this needs to be introduced and explained more. We live tourism in winter compressed into 3 months. We have very beautiful destination areas in our hands, I hope the start has been made to realize them." Explaining that the tourism areas in the district are quite rich, Aykul said, "After the ecotourism area, we have Crying Rock and small waterfalls. I hope we have studies to include them in the destination area. We have started initiatives as an association, as the people of Sarıkamış. I hope we will bring this area to tourism with the support of our Ministry and our government." Nature photographer Hasan Cellat stated that the region welcomes photographers with its natural beauties and noted that the expansion of the area will contribute to tourism.
