30,000 people visited Giresun's Pamukkale in 9 days

In Giresun's Dereli district, the Göksu travertines, known for their turquoise pools and white stones, were among the most visited places during Eid al-Adha. Located in the village of Pınarlar, the Göksu travertines were developed into terraces with numerous pools of varying sizes as part of a project initiated by the Giresun Governorship Provincial Administration in 2020. Opened to visitors in 2021, the site has since been equipped with a parking lot, road improvements, a local products market, and lighting, making it one of the most important tourist destinations in Giresun. According to information from Provincial Administration officials, the Göksu travertines are attracting significant attention. Approximately 30,000 people visited the travertines during Eid al-Adha. Last year, 100,000 people visited the travertines from June to October 2023, and it is expected that nearly 300,000 people will visit during the same period this year. "No need to go to Denizli for Pamukkale" Melih Akgül, who visited the area with his family from Samsun, expressed his admiration for the travertines he visited for the first time, saying, "There is no need to go to Denizli to see Pamukkale. We visited Pamukkale as a family, but we didn’t have as much fun there. This place is much more interesting, surrounded by nature. It is a place that won't make you miss Pamukkale. I just realized that you need to come prepared to enter the water here. I recommend everyone to visit this place." Other visitors, who had been to the travertines before, noted that each time they come, the place becomes more beautiful, and they are pleased to see new attractions that make their visit worthwhile.
