Cizre awaits domestic and foreign tourists

Şırnak is waiting for its local and foreign tourists in the summer with the opening of the historical places that have been restored in Cizre district. Cizre, where social life comes alive with its cultural values, civilization and natural beauties dating back 10 thousand years, opens its doors to local and foreign tourists. Historical structures such as the Tomb of the Prophet Noah, İsmail Ebu'l-İz El-Cezeri Tomb, Mir Abdal Madrasa, Mem u Zin Tomb, Hamidiye Barracks and Mehmet Ağa Summer Palace attract attention from local and foreign visitors. Restoration works at the Red Madrasah and Ulu Mosque were completed in the district. The restoration carried out by the General Directorate of Foundations in Cizre Castle (Birca Belek) is planned to be completed in the near future. "With the completion of the restoration work, a great cultural route is formed in Cizre" District Governor and Deputy Mayor Nazlı Demir gave information about the activities carried out in the name of tourism in Cizre, and said that Cizre has a great potential in terms of tourism with its history, culture and hospitality. Governor Demir stated that Cizre is an ancient settlement; "Especially we know it as the second city founded after Noah's Flood. In this sense, it has a very old history. It is a beautiful city that has hosted different civilizations and cultures, is hospitable, and shows great interest and attention to outsiders. With this history, culture and hospitality, Cizre also has a great potential in terms of tourism. In particular, we have studies and initiatives to include them in GAP tours under the name of the Mesopotamia brand, which our Ministry of Industry and Technology initiated within the scope of the Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP). Demir said, "Our Red Madrasa, Great Mosque, Prophet Noah Mosque and Tomb, Hamidiye Barracks, Bırca Belek, these are truly unique works in our district." The opening of these two places was welcomed by our citizens in a nice and positive way. With these developments, a great cultural route is being formed in Cizre. A route is emerging where our guests coming to Cizre from outside can spend time with at least one day's accommodation. "Our district is truly one of the exemplary districts of our region with its peace and security" Pointing out that the most important point in tourism is peace, Demir said, "As Cizre Municipality, we have also started street rehabilitation works. We have connected the Prophet Noah Nebi Mosque and Tomb, the Red Madrasa, Dengbejevi and the old bazaar. The most important point in tourism is peace. Our history and culture are very rich. With the support of our government, we are trying to revive the richness of these historical places and bring them to light. Our district is truly one of the exemplary districts of our region with its peace and security. We, together with the people of Cizre, are trying our best to maintain this peace. As long as our peace continues, as long as these works of art come to light, Cizre will receive a lot of attention in terms of both domestic and foreign tourists." Citizen Sercan Dilsiz reminded that mosques and madrasahs have been closed for about 2 years and said, "Cizre people were longing for these historical places. These beautiful and ancient places are places where Cizre and Cizreans are relieved. Everyone comes here with excitement. They are frequented by local and foreign tourists." Ulviye Şahin from Izmir stated that she came with her husband and her daughter is here, "We are in Cizre during the school term. Many things have been said to me before I came here. It's not the place as it was said, I didn't find it like that. It's really beautiful here. We had the opportunity to visit historical places. A hospitable folk. It is a place of great history and spirituality. The fact that there is a river in Cizre also made us happy. We are very pleased with Cizre."
