Port and square arrangement in Marmaris Bozburun has been completed

Prestige projects carried out by Marmaris Municipality in the neighborhoods continue. The port and square arrangement implemented in Bozburun also brought a brand new face to the tourism center. Marmaris Municipality continues to touch every neighborhood of the district and solve its problems. Bozburun, one of the neighborhoods farthest from the center, has gained a brand new look after the work done in Bozburun. The first of the works that changed the face of Bozburun was the revision of the yacht mooring pier. The works on the yacht mooring pier, which was started in 2021 by the Marmaris Municipality Directorate of Science Affairs and built in 3 stages due to the summer, have been completed. Infrastructure line, electrical infrastructure, plumbing, panels and yacht mooring points (eyebolts) and superstructure were renewed at the pier with a total length of 525 meters. Another work done in Bozburun was the arrangement made in Atatürk Square. With the arrangement made in line with the demands of the people of the region, the old and worn flooring in the square with an area of 3300 m2 was replaced. Stone pattern pressed concrete was applied instead of the flooring, which was the subject of complaints from the people of the region. A different look was given by placing decorative hubs in the form of a compass in the middle of the stone patterns. Saying that Bozburun is very important for Marmaris, Marmaris Mayor Mehmet Oktay said, “As soon as we took office in Bozburun, one of the most beautiful and favorite spots of our district, we did a lot of work. We brought a different face to our work in the port and square area. We welcome our guests with a brand new face. We still have a lot of work to do. We will implement them one by one in line with the demands of our people. We wish good luck to our local residents in these works.”

Hafsa Sultan Caravanserai will be restored

Marmaris Municipality has started the architectural project, which is the first step of the restoration and the reconstruction of the bath section of the Hafsa Sultan Caravanserai, also known as the "range house" at the entrance of the historical castle. A protocol was signed by Marmaris Mayor Mehmet Oktay and Asar Architecture official Meral Oğuz for the work of the building, which covers 10 separate parcels. In his speech here, Oktay stated that one of his important duties is to protect the historical and local values of Marmaris. Stating that they will ensure that the structure, which is in the memories of the people of Marmaris, will meet with life again, Oktay said, "We are happy to be able to restore the caravanserai as a result of our intense efforts. This work, which will be important both in terms of preserving our history and transferring our values to future generations, will also contribute to our district economically. In order to spread tourism to 12 months, our goal will be to provide mobility in the Kaleiçi region with its touristic and commercial unique function." Company representative Oğuz also stated that the process of restoring the historical building, which started with the cooperation of property owners and local government, dates a few years back. About the Caravanserai The sign of the caravanserai, on which the expression "Sultan Suleiman Han, the son of Sultan Selim Han, the sultan of the land and seas, the lord of the Arab and Persian kings, was built in 1545" on the entrance door, states that the purpose of its construction was "accommodation during the Rhodes expedition". During the Rhodes expedition, Suleiman the Magnificent ordered the construction of Marmaris Castle and the caravanserai, which turned into a private property over time, and some times, it was turned into bars and entertainment venues, and it was tried to be expropriated.
