Cultural events ongoing at Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Cultural Center

Between 2014 and 2024, the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality's Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Cultural Center hosted 2,185 theater performances, workshops, educational events, concerts, ballets, conferences, and talks. Located in Muğla, known for its agriculture, tourism, and culture, the center continues to host social, cultural, artistic, and educational activities. In 2023 alone, the center hosted 283 events. With a capacity of 600 seats, a spacious stage of 233 square meters, and a unique orchestra pit feature not found in many cities, the Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Cultural Center is designed to accommodate events such as opera and ballet. The Muğla Metropolitan Municipality's Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Cultural Center will host a women's day-themed orchestra concert, the theater play 'Dolaptaki Kadın' (The Woman in the Wardrobe), and the event 'Last Dance with Ata' in the coming days.

International Latmos marathon was run

The '4th International Latmos Marathon' was organized by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality in order to develop local and sports tourism and contribute to the regional economy at the same time, in the Kapıkırı neighborhood of Milas. 420 athletes from Turkey and 6 different countries participated in the races, which are known as Turkey's one hundred percent goat track and held with the slogan "Run in Wonderland" this year. Competing in 4 categories of 10-17-26-45 kilometers, the athletes discovered Latmos by running. In his speech at the start of the 4th International Latmos Ultra Marathon, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr Osman Gürün said that athletes from different geographies discovered the beauties of Muğla with this marathon and increased love and hope with unity. This year, we are hosting sports fans from 6 countries and 29 provinces of our country in Muğla. A total of 420 athletes will discover Muğla through sports. Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, which continues its efforts to protect the seas throughout the province, will continue to serve with waste reception vessels as of May 1. Muğla Metropolitan Municipality collects wastes from sea vehicles with 7 boats within the framework of the 'Blue Sea Clean Coasts' project and collects them at the waste collection center in Göcek and Akyaka. The seas of Muğla, where thousands of tour boats and private sea vehicles travel, are protected by the Metropolitan. To date, 16 million kg of waste has been collected from the seas. In the centers in Göcek and Akyaka, 7 waste reception vessels are maintained and repaired in order to be ready for the season. Waste reception vessels will start to collect waste from boats in the seas as of May 1, 2023. Muğla Metropolitan Municipality has served 15 thousand 992 boats in Göcek, Gökova Bay and Dalaman bays so far. During this process, the teams collected 12 thousand 420 liters of waste oil, 46 thousand 720 liters of bilge, 14 million 478 thousand 822 liters of sewage, 16 million 254 thousand 795 kg of solid waste.

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality's Bodrum Sewerage System, which continues in Bodrum, has reached a completion rate of 95 percent, Turgutreis Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant 87 percent, and Gumbet Gümüşlük Wastewater Treatment Plant capacity increase project has reached a completion rate of 79 percent. In the works, sewerage network manufacturing continues in Koyunbaba, Akyarlar, Turgutreis, Islamhaneleri and Erdemil Neighborhoods. On the other hand, 61 percent of the Torba Sewage and wastewater treatment plant project, which was tendered by the Ministry but to be paid for by the Metropolitan Municipality, has been completed. In the 350 million TL project, 5 thousand 200 meters of sewerage network and 6 thousand 800 meters of pressure lift line work were carried out. Environmental treatment plants are largely completed Wastewater treatment plant investments, which are of great importance for the protection of Bodrum's nature and especially its seas, initiated by the Metropolitan Municipality, are progressing rapidly. 87 of the 231 Million TL Bodrum Tugutreis Advanced Biological wastewater treatment plant project has been completed. While the construction works of the facility, which will be able to perform advanced biological treatment, are completed, the assembly of electro-mechanical equipment continues. In the project, which increased the capacities of Gumbet and Gumusluk facilities to the capacity to serve 200 thousand people, 79 percent of the works have been completed. With the project costing 226 Million 580 Thousand TL, Gumbet wastewater treatment plant will be enlarged 3 times, Gümüşlük wastewater treatment plant will be enlarged 4 times and a quality treatment will be made with the MBR system.
