1400 buildings in "Nearly Zero Energy Buildings" concept

According to the information received by the AA correspondent, the transition to the nSEB concept, which is more energy efficient than normal buildings and provides a certain part of the energy it uses from renewable energy sources, became mandatory on January 1, gradually. Thus, as of January 1, all buildings with a total construction area of more than 5 thousand square meters in a parcel will be built with an energy performance class of at least "B". These buildings will meet at least 5 percent of the energy they use from renewable energy sources such as solar panels, wind energy and heat pumps. In this context, 1400 buildings larger than 5 thousand square meters have been designed and licensed in accordance with NSEB conditions. These buildings are designed to be approximately 25 percent energy efficient compared to a normal building. By designing these buildings, which are still under construction, under NSEB conditions, the energy wastage of 24 gigawatt hours per year will be prevented when the building is completed. Thus, an annual saving of 9.5 million liras will be achieved in Turkey's energy bill. The application will be expanded in 2025 in buildings over 2,000 square meters. In addition, as of January 1, 2025, it will be mandatory to extend this application to all buildings over 2 thousand square meters and to provide at least 10 percent of the energy used from renewable energy sources. In order to reach Turkey's "2053 net zero emissions" target, it is aimed to move to the second stage of implementation starting from 2030, making it mandatory for all buildings without a square meter limit, and making greater improvements in the minimum energy performance class and the rate of minimum renewable energy use.
