With the Dalyan Digital Nomads Destination Project carried out under the auspices of the Muğla Governorship, it is aimed that Dalyan and its surroundings will be the new route of the Digital Nomads. With its world-famous king tombs, Dalyan Canal, Caretta turtles and natural wonder mud and sulfur bath in the Ortaca district of Muğla, the popular district of Dalyan attracts the attention of digital nomads as an alternative to tourism activities in all seasons. With the popularization of the concept of remote working, which started with the pandemic in the business world, studies have been started to implement the tourism trend, which started with the name 'Digital Nomad', that is, 'Digital Nomadism', as an alternative tourism project in Muğla. In order to attract digital nomads to Dalyan, the world-famous tourism region of Muğla's Ortaca District, work has begun under the direction of the Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate. With the cooperation of Ortaca Municipality and YDA Dalaman Airport Operation, it is aimed to increase the occupancy rates, especially in low season, and to employ tourism workers continuously. Digital Nomads prefer to stay in their region for at least 2 weeks and at most 6 months. With the arrival of these new generation employees, who prefer to travel, have fun and get to know new cultures while working, a new tourism resource will be created as an alternative to summer tourism in the region. Ortaca District Governorate and Ortaca Municipality are among the partners of the project, which is carried out by Muğla Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism under the auspices of Muğla Governorship. Among the participants of the project, YDA Dalaman Airport Management, Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dalyan Hoteliers Association, Ortaca District Directorate of National Education, among the project supporters, Dalyan Tourism Promotion, Social Development and Education Foundation (TURSEV), Dalaman, Ortaca, Köyceğiz Touristic Hoteliers and Tourism Operators Union (DOKTOB) and various personnel. It is planned that the project, hosted by Ortaca Municipality, will be extended to both Muğla and the national level to bring a new tourism policy to our country. It is aimed to ensure the branding of the Dalyan region by turning the route of digital nomads, especially in European countries with less time difference, to the region.
