Big hike in passport fee is coming

Following the increase in passport fees at the beginning of this year, the next increase will come as of 2025. With the announcement of the revaluation rate used to determine the increase rate to be applied to taxes, fees and penalties, passport fees for 2025 will be revealed. Although the Revaluation Rate determines the percentage of the increase in passport fees, the President of the Republic has the authority to decrease and increase the increase rate for passports. HOW MUCH WILL THE PASSPORT FEE INCREASE BE IN 2025? According to the projection put forward by Tax Expert Dr. Ozan Bingöl, the revaluation rate for 2024 may be around 45 percent.  If the President does not use his authority at the revaluation rate, the passport fee will be increased by 45 per cent in 2025. Even if the inflation rates for September and October, which will definitely determine the YDO, are ‘zero’, the YDO will exceed 43 percent.  In the next two months, D-PPI increases are expected to be around 3 per cent on average. According to this scenario; The revaluation rate for 2024 will be 45 percent with a straight calculation. HOW MUCH WILL THE PASSPORT FEE BE? The President has the authority to reduce taxes or penalties by half of the revaluation rate or increase them by up to 50 per cent. If the President does not use his authority, the 45 per cent increase will be reflected in passports as follows; Pasaport 2024 2025 Price Difference Passport fee up to 6 months 1.639 TL 2.377 TL 738 TL passport fee for 1 year 2.396 TL 3.475 TL 1079 TL Passport fee for 2 years 3.912 TL 5.673 TL 1.443 TL Passport fee for 3 years 5.558 TL 8.059 TL 1761 TL Passport fee for 4-10 years 7.833 TL 11.357 TL 3.524 TL WHEN WILL THE REVALUATION RATE BE ANNOUNCED?
