Turkey remained the most popular destination during the summer. According to MTS Travel data, visits to Turkey increased, making up 27% of all international trips. MegaFon data shows a similar trend, with 22% of Russian tourists choosing Turkey. Meanwhile, China emerged as the second most popular distant destination for Russian tourists this year. Russian interest in Asia extends beyond China. Significant increases were observed in trips to countries like Vietnam, Japan, Thailand, and Cambodia. MegaFon reports that trips to Vietnam increased by 2.7 times, and trips to Japan grew by 64%. MTS Travel reports a 3.7 times increase in trips to Vietnam. Travel to European countries from Russia has seen a more modest rise. According to MTS Travel, trips to Europe increased by 3% compared to the previous year, with Germany, Italy, France, Spain, and Greece being the most popular European destinations. MegaFon reports a 5% increase in European travel, with Romania, Switzerland, and Estonia showing the most significant growth.

Bartın's Amasra district, known for its stunning natural beauty and sea, has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Black Sea region. Since the introduction of cruise passenger transportation in August 2022, a total of 59,278 passengers have visited the area over two years. Russian tourists, who explore the district's historical and tourist sites, also enjoy the natural beauty of the sea. The Astoria Grande cruise ship, which has docked at Amasra Port 50 times, continues to bring more tourists to the region with each passing day. This morning, the ship brought 1,058 passengers and 453 crew members to the district. So far in 2024, 17 trips have brought a total of 23,007 visitors. With 9 more trips planned for this year, the 51st voyage next week is expected to bring the total number of visitors to over 60,000. By the end of 2025, after the 80th trip, the number of tourists is expected to exceed 70,000. The ship will visit the district 4 times in September, 3 times in October, and 2 times in November before taking a break in December. It will resume trips in January of the new year. After another break in February 2025, the ship will continue passenger transport in March for the first time. Amasra Mayor Recai Çakır highlighted the increasing interest from Russian tourists, saying, "The Russian guests arriving on the Astoria Grande cruise ship during the Black Sea tours have taken a great liking to our district. Today, 1,058 passengers and 453 crew members are with us. We have 9 more trips planned for this year. With the next trip, we will surpass 60,000 visitors. With 30 trips planned for next year, Amasra continues to make its mark on cruise tourism."

Those interested in learning Italian and French were 4%, while those interested in learning Spanish were 3%, and Arabic 1%. Participants who do not want to learn a foreign language explained that they do not travel abroad. Since the start of the military operation in Ukraine, there has been a significant increase in the demand for language learning. Hebrew saw a 206% increase, Georgian 88%, Serbian 74%, and Chinese 69%. Bulgarian experienced a 70% increase in demand, Turkish 55%, and Armenian 29%. Following Western sanctions, the demand for specialists who know the Chinese language also increased. According to a study by HeadHunter, the demand for specialists with knowledge of the Chinese language rose to one and a half times the pre-pandemic level in 2022, and in the first quarter of 2023, it increased by 40% compared to the same period in the previous year."

Taking advantage of the sunny weather, locals unfolded their camping chairs by the sea, enjoying the sunlight. Some tourists chose to fish by the sea, bringing their fishing gear with them. On this day reminiscent of summer, people strolling along the beach were seen, while tourists from the city of Moscow, Russia, enjoyed the pleasure of swimming in the sea. Karina Nazarova (23), who mentioned that the current temperature in Russia is minus 20 degrees, said, "We went from minus 20 degrees to plus 20 degrees. There is snow there, and here we have the sun. I am very happy with this situation." Another Russian citizen, Nikita Vendin (29), stated, "We cannot see the sea surface in our country. We arrived here just yesterday, and today we are swimming in the sea. We quickly adapted to the warmth. We love Alanya very much." At OCCO Beach on Cleopatra Beach, operator Yavuz İlkhan said, 'It's January. As you can see, there is a strong interest from tourists in Alanya. People are swimming in the sea right now. This is the beautiful sand of our paradise, Alanya. We welcome everyone here. They can swim in the sea in January. Currently, there are tourists, predominantly from Ukraine, Russia, Germany, the UK, and Scandinavian countries. Hopefully, tourism looks promising for the 2024 season. It might very well be a record season.'
