Oktay Aksoy, General Manager of Elite World Van Hotel, stated that the three-day holiday made a positive contribution to the economy of Van and said, “The three-day Ramadan Feast holiday has enabled both hotels and other tradesmen to make significant profits. After a low season, we achieved an economic gain with the three-day holiday and guests from Iran. When we look at the hotels, there was not a serious density in the last three months, but with the month of April and Ramadan Feast, an occupancy rate of 80-90 percent was achieved in all hotels. Emphasizing that their aim is to ensure that local and foreign tourists come to Van not only during certain periods of the year, but also for 12 months, Aksoy said, "As VANOTED, our aim is to provide good service to both our local and Iranian guests who come to our city and to contribute to Van's tourism in this regard. Our work will be in this direction."

Üç günlük Ramazan Bayramı tatilini fırsat bilerek Van’a gelen İranlı turistler, gündüz alıveriş yapıp akşam saatlerinde ise eğlence merkezlerinde gönüllerince eğlendi. İranlı turistlerin ziyaretlerinden dolayı yüzü gülen Van esnafı ise bunun 12 aya yayılması için gerekli tüm çalışmaları yapıyor. Üç günlük Ramazan Bayramı tatilinin Van esnafı için can suyu olduğunu vurgulayan Van Esnaf Odaları Birliği Başkanı İsa Berge, “Ramazan Bayramı, Van için çifte bayram oldu diyebiliriz. Özellikle İranlı misafirlerimiz üç gün boyunca Van’a akın ettiler. Bir günde yaklaşık 10 bin civarı bir insan sirkülasyonu oldu. Tabi Kapıköy Sınır Kapısının 24 saat hizmet vermesi, memleketimize katma değer sundu. Konaklama tesislerimiz, hizmet alanlarımız istediğimizden daha yoğundu. Van, bu alamda çok mutlu. İnşallah önümüzdeki süreçler de böyle devam eder. Van; ekonomik hacmini yakalamış, turizme katma değer sunan bir şehir. Özellikle yerli ve yabancı turist varlığına baktığımızda, ekonominin tarzını bölge olarak Van Havzası oluşturmuş. Bu anlamda özellikle yerel esnaftan ricamız, gelen misafirlere misafirperverliğimizi gösterelim ve fiyat politikamıza dikkat edelim ki bundan sonra sürdürülebilir bir ekonomi oluşsun” dedi. Düşük geçen bir sezonun ardından üç günlük bayram ve İran’dan gelen misafirlerle birlikte ekonomik anlamda bir kazanç elde ettik. Otellere baktığımızda ise son üç ayda aslında ciddi anlamda bir yoğunluk olmadığı ancak nisan ayı ve Ramazan Bayramı ile birlikte tüm otellerde yüzde 80-90 oranında bir doluluk oranı sağlandı. Bu da esnafımıza bir can suyu olarak geldi” ifadelerini kullandı. Gayelerinin yerel ve yabancı turistlerin sadece yılın belli dönemlerinde değil 12 ay Van’a gelmelerini sağlamak olduğunu vurgulayan Aksoy, “VANOTED olarak amacımız, ilimize gelen hem yerli hem de İranlı misafirlerimize iyi hizmet verip, bununla ilgili ciddi anlamda Van’ın turizmine katkı sağlamaktır. Çalışmamız da bu yönde olacaktır” diye konuştu.
