Turkish signature at Vietnam's Long Thanh International Airport.

According to the information obtained by the AA correspondent; VieTur, led by IC İçtaş İnşaat, the first Turkish company in the region, won the first phase tender of Long Thanh International Airport, the country's largest prestige infrastructure project to date, carried out under the responsibility of the Prime Minister of Vietnam. The airport tender process, which started in January 2023, was completed with a contract value of 1.5 billion dollars. A contract will be signed between Vietnam Airports Company and VieTur Consortium on Monday, August 28. The groundbreaking ceremony of the International Airport is planned to be held on the morning of Thursday, August 31, 2023. Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and many other ministers are expected to attend the ceremony. Special program for the promotion of large infrastructure projects Before the groundbreaking ceremony, a special event will be held by the Prime Ministry of Vietnam on Wednesday, August 30th, with the participation of IC management and relevant ministers, to discuss major infrastructure projects planned in Vietnam. It is considered that the said airport project and future cooperation will be an important step in the development of Turkey-Vietnam relations. International airport will serve 25 million passengers annually Long Thanh International Airport, which is aimed to serve 25 million passengers and carry 1.2 million tons of cargo annually, will have a passenger terminal of 373 thousand square meters. The project, for which the contract period has been determined as 39 months, is expected to make significant contributions to the country's trade and tourism.
