The Presidential International Yacht Race

Halikarnas 100th Anniversary Cup, the first stage of the Presidential International Yacht Race, organized for the fourth time this year under the auspices of the Presidency, started in Bodrum Yalıkavak. Domestic and foreign athletes sailing in the blue waters of the Aegean compete in a fascinating atmosphere on the Bodrum-Marmaris-Bodrum route. The race, where sailing enthusiasts will complete a course of 250 nautical miles in total, witnessed the fierce struggle of more than 450 athletes competing in 45 teams. Even the height and weight ratios of the athletes competing in the “IRC” and “Traveler” class sailboats varying between 9 and 15 meters in length play a critical role in the race. The teams competing on the boats consist of teams of minimum 2 and maximum 15 people. With the contributions of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, with the support of the Muğla Governorship, the main sponsorship of DHL Express and the coordination of the Turkish Sailing Federation, the organization was held in the tourism paradise of Muğla by the Istanbul Offshore Yacht Racing Club. The organization also contributes to the promotion of the natural, historical and cultural beauties of our country on international platforms. Ekrem Yemlihaoğlu, the President of the Istanbul Offshore Yacht Racing Club, which hosts the sea enthusiasts who closely watch the boats, which provide a visual feast in the deep blue waters, announced that the first of the ethylene races organized in 2 stages this year was held in Muğla on the Bodrum-Marmaris route between 25-30 July. Yemlihaoğlu announced that the second of the races will be the Republic Cup on October 29 in the Bosphorus.
