Kayseri, Artık Dünya Gastronomi Şehri Anadolu’nun kadim şehirlerinden Kayseri, Birleşmiş Milletler Eğitim, Bilim ve Kültür Örgütü’nün (UNESCO) Gastronomi Yaratıcı Şehirler Ağı Ulusal Listesi’ne girmeyi başardı. 6 bin yıllık tarihinde Hititler, Frigler, Romalılar, Selçuklular ve Osmanlı medeniyetlerine beşiklik eden ve zengin mutfak kültürüne sahip Kayseri; Gaziantep, Hatay ve Afyonkarahisar’ın ardından Türkiye’yi gastronomi alanında uluslararası prestij kazandıran unvanı elde eden dördüncü şehri oldu. Gastronomi turizminde Kayseri’nin sloganı ‘Tarihten Kültüre Lezzet Diyarı’ Gastronomi turizminde söz sahibi olmak için “Tarihten Kültüre Lezzetler Diyarı” sloganı ile ulusal ve uluslararası ölçekte çeşitli tanıtım faaliyetleri gerçekleştiren Kayseri Büyükşehir Belediyesi, sucuk ve pastırmayla yapılan pek çok yemeğin yanı sıra mantı, yağlama, pöç tandır, fırın ağzı, kurşun aşı, Develi cıvıklısı, çemen, kete, katmer, aside, nevzine, gilaburu suyu gibi yöresel lezzetleri dünya vitrinine taşımıştı.
