Two new wagons to carry bicycles and ski equipment will be added to the Rhodope narrow-gauge railway, which is a favorite of local and foreign tourists. Bulgarian Railways Enterprise BDZ announced that they will add special wagons to the composition of the 'Rodopi' high-speed train, which operates on the Septemvri - Dobrinishte - Septemvri line every Saturday and Sunday, starting from November 4th.
The new wagons consist of converted mail wagons. They can also be included in all trains on the narrow gauge route if requested to transport at least four bicycles or ski equipment, no later than seven days before the travel date. The transportation fee for a bicycle is 2.00 BGN.
It is expected that an additional wagon will be adapted and completed to serve people with limited mobility within the next year.
The Septemvri-Dobrinishte narrow-gauge railway, whose construction started in 1921, has become the symbol of tourism in the Rhodopes region between Velingrad and Bansko.
