In addition to Turkey's London Ambassador Koray Ertaş, hundreds of people attended the program organized as part of the "Open Iftar" events, which became traditional in the country by the "Ramadan Tent Project".
Making a speech before iftar, Ertaş stated that Ramadan is a period when differences are put aside, broken relations are renewed and relations are strengthened.
Pointing out that Ramadan is a time of solidarity, Ertaş made the following assessment:
"We felt these feelings during the devastating earthquake before Ramadan. We are still praying for the earthquake victims. We lost more than 50,000 people in my country. We are grateful to everyone in Britain. They showed great solidarity with our country and our nation. We will never forget the images of people from all over the country packing the aid supplies."
Explaining that he attends an iftar program every day, Ertaş said that Muslims are integrated into British society. Ertaş added that one of the sponsors of Open Iftar is the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities.
After the speeches, the evening prayer was given by Abdullatif Aydın, who works as a doctor at King's College London.
