Paşabağları in Cappadocia, is being restored

Paşabağları, one of the most important tourism destinations of Cappadocia and one of the most visited ruins in the region, is being restored to its original form. Paşabağı ruins, located in the Cappadocia region, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and Turkey's important cultural and tourism center, has vineyards in accordance with its originality. Foreign tourists accompanied the grape sapling planting event held in Paşabağları. Indicating that Paşabağları ruins are among the places that host the most visitors in the region, Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Orhan Kekeç said, “Paşabağları will return to its good old days. This place used to be a vineyard place. With the support and effort of our Museum Directorate and our sponsors, we organized a grape sapling planting event by reuniting these idle and empty spaces with the vines. Hopefully, in the future, we will be able to eat grapes from the vines we planted. I think it will be a very beautiful sight."

Italian journalist Fabrizio Bellone, who came to visit the Cappadocia region, said, “I came to Cappadocia to travel. If Paşabağları is the place I am visiting right now, I was thinking that there must be a vineyard here. However, I contributed to the planting of grape seedlings here. I hope the grape sapling I planted belongs to a good grape. Since these places are under UNESCO, I think that good grape saplings have been planted. I will come back to eat grapes from the grape sapling I planted here in the coming years." Italian tourist Valeria Desidero, who said that Cappadocia is a very fantastic place, also said in his statement, "Cappadocia is a place beyond what we think. It was a chance for us to plant these grapes here. We are happy to help and contribute to this." Nevşehir Museum Director Gökhan Maskar said that within the framework of the project, 2 thousand 500 saplings were planted on approximately 35 decares of land by the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism and the Museum Directorate. Maskar said, “We have a goal of restoring Paşabağları to its original form. The grape sticks we will plant in this area will be grape sticks unique to Nevşehir. In this way, we are returning our Paşabağlar ruins to its original and essence.”
