According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), while annual inflation decreased to 71.60% in June, the highest annual price increase based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was observed in restaurants and hotels, following education and housing. As of June, there was a 90.67% annual increase in prices for restaurants and hotels. The hotel search platform Neredekal.com also examined the increases in one-night room prices. Analyzing data from over 23,000 accommodation facilities listed on the platform, it was determined that the average one-night room price in June across Turkey increased by 73% compared to the same period last year.
HIGHEST INCREASE IN MERSIN
According to the data, the province with the highest increase in room prices in June was Mersin, with a 97% rise. Mersin was followed by Balıkesir with a 90% increase and Çanakkale with an 85% increase. The preferences of vacationers in terms of location and concept also became clear.
MOST SEARCHES FOR ANTALYA
According to the platform's data, those planning holidays most frequently searched for vacations in Antalya, Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, and Balıkesir. In June, compared to the previous month, searches for all-inclusive hotels increased by 60%, apart-hotels by 131%, pensions by 45%, and bungalows by 196%.
