Teams from the ministry are heading to the beaches for inspections

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance will intensify inspections of heavily used businesses in tourism resorts, especially in Antalya, Muğla, and İzmir, during the summer season. Teams from the Revenue Administration under the ministry have scheduled these inspections with the onset of the tourism season.

"THE FIGHT AGAINST THE INFORMAL ECONOMY WILL CONTINUE STRONGLY"

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek emphasized the importance they place on combating the informal economy, stating, "Necessary actions will be taken based on the results obtained. Our fight against the informal economy will continue strongly and without compromise."

HUNDREDS OF INSPECTORS DEPLOYED

During the summer, inspections will be carried out primarily in the tourism resorts of Antalya, Muğla, and İzmir. To this end, hundreds of inspectors have been deployed to Antalya, İzmir, and Muğla. Field inspections will target entertainment venues operating at night, yacht tourism, beach clubs, as well as hotels and guesthouses. The inspections will also include restaurants and businesses on busy streets and avenues. Revenue assessments will be conducted particularly in nightclubs, restaurants, and beach clubs.

The Revenue Administration teams will also focus on daily rental properties during these inspections. As part of this effort, analysis for 2023 summer rentals is being conducted, and taxpayers believed to have earned income from such rentals will be invited to explain and voluntarily comply with declarations based on the results. Additionally, inspections will be carried out on taxpayers who have received daily rental permits from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as well as on vacant properties with the potential for daily rentals.
