In Kazandere barrage, which is located in Vize district of Kırklareli and meets the water needs of Istanbul, the water level, which was 100 percent in March last year, decreased to 8.85 percent according to the latest data. In Papuçdere, it decreased from 95.33% to 9.49% in the same period.

The final occupancy rate of the barrages in Istanbul is; Ömerli 55.29 percent, Pabuçdere 9.49 percent, Sazlıdere 32.58 percent, Büyükçekmece 30.1 percent, Alibey 11.3, Terkos 31.68 percent, Kazandere 8.85 percent, Elmalı 32.9 percent, Darlık percent 46.83, the Strandjas were measured as 35.98 percent.

Göksal Çiğdem stated that drought was experienced due to the global climate crisis and said, "Istrancalar and Kırklareli are a region that supports water in Istanbul. Therefore, underground water resources must be protected for those living in Kırklareli, Edirne and Istanbul."

Çiğdem stated that if the air temperatures are high and there is no precipitation, there will be water problems not only in Istanbul but also in Trakya.
