While the Candarlı District of Iznik has attracted attention with its increasing blueberry production in recent years, the increasing production every year has made the region the center of fruit. Iznik Municipality held a festival for the third time with the aim of promoting the blueberry and the region. The best of the blueberries collected from 10 orchards was hardly determined by the jury. Gifts were presented to the garden owners who ranked in the top three. Mayor of Iznik Kağan Mehmet Usta said, “We should all know the value of living and breathing in Iznik. With its nature, air and increasing potential in rural tourism, Candarlı Mahallesi and its surroundings are becoming the focus of attention with each passing day. We add momentum to this with our activities and the work we do. Blueberry is a perfect fruit that nature offers us. It is also considered a superfood by nutritionists. The added value that such a fruit adds to our region makes us and our people happy. Well done to the hands and efforts of each of our producers. In this festival, we aim to create an important awareness in order to express gratitude for the blessings that nature offers us and to protect them. We must leave a healthy world to future generations by preserving the balance of nature together. After the speeches, the Iznik Municipality Mehter Team gave the guests enthusiastic moments with their unique tunes. Orhangazi Batumi Association folklore teams performed their shows. Blueberry ice cream and roasted rice, specially made by the Municipality of Iznik, were offered to everyone participating in the program.
