The number of foreign tourists visiting Trabzon doubled
Trabzon, one of Turkey's prominent cities in culture, history and nature tourism, is receiving increasing interest from local and foreign tourists every year.

In addition to its natural beauties, historical and cultural assets, the city offers many alternatives for sea, highland and mountain tourism to its visitors, and is among the top choices of domestic and foreign tourists.
Visitors coming to the city from all over Turkey and especially from Gulf countries spend time in historical and touristic places, especially in Sümela Monastery and Uzungöl.
Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Tamer Erdoğan told Anadolu Agency that there is a great deal of interest in Trabzon during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
Erdogan stated that according to the data of the State Airports Authority (DHMI), a total of 149 thousand 360 passengers arrived in the city on domestic and international flights during the 9-day holiday.
Expressing that they expect the intensity of the holiday to be experienced during the tourism season, Erdoğan said; "Our aim is for the season to be good and for this process to spread until the end of the year. According to DHMI's information, 3,955 direct flights are planned to take place from 24 destinations to approximately 12 countries between 16 June and 31 August this year."
Erdogan noted that guests from Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Jordan, Bahrain, Iraq and Israel, especially Saudi Arabia, preferred Trabzon, and this interest spread in waves to other countries in the region.
Expressing that the number of international passengers arriving at Trabzon Airport in the first 6 months of last year was 70 thousand 445, the majority of which were foreigners, Erdoğan stated that this number rose to 125 thousand 29 with an increase of 77 percent in the same period of 2023.

Stating that the number of foreign tourists staying in Trabzon in the first half of 2022 was 95 thousand 199, and 205 thousand 550 in the first 6 months of this year, Erdoğan drew attention to the fact that there was an increase of 115.9 percent in the number of foreign tourists staying in the city.
Expressing that they hope this season will be a good one, Erdoğan said, "We hope that these numbers will increase with the increasing interest in the city next year. We act with the slogan of '12 months tourism, tourism in all seasons' in Trabzon."
Emphasizing that Trabzon is also quite assertive in health tourism, Erdoğan said:
"Recently, we made a health tourism visit in Baku with the Provincial Health Directorate and Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry. After the visit, we hosted travel agencies engaged in health tourism in Trabzon, and they examined our health facilities. In the upcoming period, we will host our guests from Turkic republics and other countries in our city. This will add an added value to Trabzon. In the coming days, we will see Trabzon in a wide range of health tourism."
