Turkish Airlines plans to increase the number of flights from Istanbul to Astana and Almaty. For this purpose, the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan and Turkish Airlines came together.
During the meeting, issues regarding the increase in the number of flights on the Istanbul - Astana and Almaty "> Istanbul - Almaty routes were discussed.
Chairman of the Committee, Talgat Lastaev, touched upon the issue of providing passengers with a more comfortable flight and increasing passenger capacity.
THY representatives stated that the company is expected to start flights to Kazakhstan as of March 2024, with the completion of the division of Anadolu Jet into a company with a separate legal entity. Additionally, Turkish Airlines was offered the opportunity to benefit from the fifth degree of air freedom on flights to Kazakhstan.
The conclusion was that there was agreement to expand the flight geography and continue international flights on a regular basis.
