150,000 people visited the Limni Lake Nature Park

The nature park, which attracts visitors with the crater lake it takes its name from and the surrounding scotch pine, spruce and fir forests, is located on the skirts of Zigana Mountain, 45 kilometers from Gümüşhane city center.

The nature park, which is covered with snow for a long time during the winter months, has hosted approximately 150 thousand visitors since April 21, when it was opened to visitors this year.

Nature lovers have a pleasant time around the lake thanks to the shade of the trees.

Torul District Governor Orhan Ayaz told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the nature park is a very important center for Gümüşhane's tourism and that the guests had a pleasant time.

Stating that the nature park started to host its guests during the Ramadan, Ayaz said; "This season, we hosted approximately 150 thousand local and foreign tourists at Limnos Lake. It is impossible to find a place in the bungalow houses here during the summer. The interest of all our citizens and foreign tourists is great. This is a region that contributes a lot to Gümüşhane's tourism. We strongly recommend our citizens to see it."

Emphasizing that the weather is always cold in the nature park at high altitude, Ayaz invited those who are bothered by the heat to see the natural beauty.

Most of the visitors are foreign tourists

Murat Eroğlu, the operator of the facility in Limni Lake Nature Park, stated that they offer services to visitors without disturbing the nature with facilities such as 23 country houses, a restaurant for 150 people, a prayer room, camellia, gazebo and observation tower.

Explaining that the guests can have a picnic in the park without lighting a fire, Eroğlu emphasized that the season was intense.

Pointing out that especially tourists from Gulf countries show great interest in Limni Lake, Eroğlu said; "Our visitors come from Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman frequently. Apart from that, we also have visitors from Palestine, England, Ukraine and Greece this year. The number of foreign tourists in the region is increasing day by day."

Anıl Şen, who visited the region with his family from Çorum, said that he had been planning to come to Limni Lake for a long time.

Expressing that he was impressed by the scene he encountered, Şen said:

"We were very pleased with its atmosphere, nature and peaceful environment. It is a peaceful environment with really relaxing activities for both children and adults. I recommend everyone who loves nature to come and see this place."
