Spaniard Jorge Perez Cebreros, (27) and his college friend, Italian Beatrice Esposito (26), started their Europe and Asia tour from Spain on August 1, with long bikes they had specially designed by combining old bicycle parts.
The duo, who reached Turkey after traveling many kilometers, took a break in Beyşehir. The duo had the opportunity to visit the historical places of Beyşehir and see them closely.
Jorge Perez Cebreros told reporters that their aim is to see different cultures and learn more.
Expressing that they have made their dreams come true, Cebreros said, "Young people can also make their dreams come true by cycling without spending any money, even just by recycling, let them believe that."
Explaining that they wanted to reach India through Georgia, Armenia, Iran and Pakistan, Cebreros said:
"We prefer to stay in small places. We wake up whenever we want in the morning and pack our tent. How much do we pedal daily? It depends on the wind due to our bike and the slopes we may encounter. Sometimes we can go 20 kilometers, sometimes 50-100 kilometers. Sometimes we find a beautiful view and stop there."
Beatrice Esposito, on the other hand, emphasized that they found Turkey, which is on their route, very beautiful and that they were amazed by the hospitality of the Turkish people; "We have experienced this hospitality in other countries as well, but Turkey was very special for us. Turkish people are very good, we had good memories here."
Beyşehir Culture, Tourism and Nature Association President Mustafa Büyükkafalı stated that the number of foreign guests they host in the bicycle house in Beyşehir is increasing day by day and said, "Beyşehir has become a good route for cyclists. They reach Beyşehir by crossing the mountains and roads, and when they come here, we host them. Our last guests attract attention with their interesting bikes. We also experienced it by riding their bikes. It seems that the number of cyclists we will host will increase as the weather warms up. We host guests almost twice a week."
