"We will leverage the positive impact of Çukurova Airport on tourism"

Mersin Governor Ali Hamza Pehlivan stated that they would make the best use of the positive impact of Çukurova International Airport on the tourism sector.

The Culture and Tourism Evaluation meeting was held under the chairmanship of Governor Pehlivan. Speaking at the meeting, which took place at the Governor's Office, Pehlivan said, "The Çukurova International Airport was inaugurated with the presence of our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. This significant and large-scale investment will have positive impacts on our region, our province, and all sectors within our province. One of the sectors that will be positively affected is tourism. As Mersin, we must and will make the best use of the positive impacts and advantages that Çukurova International Airport will bring to the tourism sector."

"Mersin will raise its standards in the tourism sector even higher"

Pehlivan stated that with the support and patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, they will continue to work with all stakeholders in the tourism sector, increasing their efforts effectively. "Under the patronage and coordination of our Governorship, our working groups, consisting of the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, the Çukurova Development Agency, the National Agency, and institutions and organizations on our Governorship's Tourism Promotion Commission, as well as sector representatives, are making plans covering the short, medium, and long term. Our existing action plans are being updated. We believe that in the upcoming period, Mersin will raise its standards in the tourism sector even higher." At the meeting, culture and tourism activities across Mersin, projects and efforts carried out to develop the tourism sector, and future steps were evaluated. The meeting was attended by Deputy Governor Ahmet Gazi Kaya, EU and Foreign Relations Office Coordinator Murat Ozan, Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Hakan Doğanay, Deputy Directors Erkan Akyüz and Emel Gökbel, Acting Museum Director Mustafa Ergün, Acting Coordinator of the Mersin Çukurova Development Agency Hakan Bozlu, and architect Basri Aydemir.
