1 million people are expected in Çeşme during Eid-al-Adha

In Çeşme and Alaçatı, where restaurants, cafes and entertainment venues suitable for every budget can be found, holidaymakers will have pleasant moments with the free sunset concerts organized by the municipality.

Çeşme Touristic Hoteliers Association (ÇESTOB) President Yakup Demir stated that they are pleased with the interest of holidaymakers in Çeşme and said, "We heard that the temperatures will rise up to 37 degrees and we are happy. It means that summer will start with the holiday. Our holiday reservations are going quite well. It was stagnant until last week. This week has been very lively. Our occupancy rates have started to reach 80 percent. As of today, the holiday has started. The 9-day Eid holiday has been a lifeline for tourism. We've had a tough winter. We still have economic problems. The fluctuation in foreign exchange wears us out a lot. Our expectation is that it will stabilize. Since we set our prices in January and the payment we receive in early reservation is TL, of course, our guests who benefit from early reservation will have a very advantageous holiday.

ÇESTOB President Demir said, "When we look at the season in general, I hope that Çeşme will have a nice summer season. Those who have vacationed in Çeşme beforehand know the breeze of Çeşme very well in the summer heat. We're going to have an uneventful summer. It is said that this summer will be long as winter comes late. Even though we don't believe in these tawaturs, we still like it. We will be happy if we can extend the season especially to September and October."

Alaçatı Tourism Association President Necat Çelikok pointed out that Alaçatı, which has become a world brand, will be full again this summer, and said, "As it is known, the season started late this year. The season started with a 9-day holiday break. Two-thirds of the hotels in Çeşme are in Alaçatı. Most of the hotels, even if they have 5-10 rooms, are in Alaçatı. Our holiday occupancy rate has exceeded 80%. It seems that we will reach 100 percent occupancy during the holiday. Did the 9-day Eid holiday be beneficial for hoteliers? We cannot say it happened; because we have a cultural habit on Eid-al-Adha. On the first day of the holiday, elders are visited, cemetery visits are made, sacrifices are made. On the second day of the Eid-al-Adha, people go on vacation. I think we will reach 100 percent occupancy from the second day of the holiday."
