The tourism season continues in Kızkalesi in the district of Erdemli, which is part of the ancient city of Korykos, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.
The facilities on the beach, which have the "blue flag", which is the symbol of a clean, well-equipped, safe environment, continue to host domestic and foreign tourists.
In the tourism region, which attracts attention with its 2-kilometer-long and 55-meter-wide stone-free beach, which hosts the unique shades of blue, businesses are happy when the facilities are mostly full due to the holiday.

Kızkalesi Tourism and Culture Association Vice President Mehmet Şirin Öztop told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the 9-day holiday made the operators in the region happy.
Noting that the activity started in tourism towards the end of June, Öztop said, "As tourism professionals, we are extremely happy with the decision of the holiday. We will spend 9 days to the fullest. The reservations received for the holiday in our hotels and businesses are about to reach 100 percent."
Öztop stated that all preparations were made in the region days ago and said:
"We will spend our 9 days like a holiday, we will make our guests extremely happy and send them off. The problems in the infrastructure of our enterprises have been resolved. Everyone is ready, we are looking forward to the holiday. Kızkalesi is a very beautiful place. Our castle is in the middle of the sea, it is like no other.
There are many historical and touristic places around us. We do not only market sand, sea and sun. Our guests who want to enrich their holidays can head to different destinations. There is a bird sanctuary, rafting, diving sports and nomadic culture in our nearby region. We are waiting for everyone to Kızkalesi for the holiday."
The occupancy rates in the holiday are expected to be reflected in the season
Mehmet Tatlı, the manager of a hotel with a capacity of 250 people in the tourism center, emphasized that the holiday had a positive effect on the tourism season in the region, and said:
"With the closure of the schools, there was a slow movement in the region. Currently, our occupancy rate is around 30 percent. We think that the occupancy rate will reach 90 percent with the holiday. We hope that the season will continue like this until the schools open after the holiday. It was very good for us that the Eid holiday was announced for 9 days.
