According to the statement made by the THY Press Office, the global brand, which started to carry the crescent and star flag for the first time in 1933 with a fleet of 5 aircraft with a capacity of 28 seats, today delivers millions of guests to 344 destinations in 129 countries with its modern fleet of 415 aircraft.
Having made its first international flight on the Ankara-Istanbul-Athens route in 1947, THY has been proudly waving the Turkish flag in the sky for 90 years.
While THY plans to have a fleet of 800 planes in 2033, the number of airports is expected to reach 400.
THY, which currently directs the employment schedule of the sector with its 82 thousand employees, aims to contribute to employment in the country with its 150 thousand employees in 2033. In addition, THY, which has increased the rate of new generation aircraft in the fleet and the use of sustainable aviation fuel in an effort to become a sustainable airline company, also develops projects in the field of digital transformation. Continuing to work in line with its 2033 vision, THY plans to be at the top in its 100th year.
With the experience gained in the Turkish market, THY has created a successful strategy in its overseas operations, and with this strategy, it has laid the foundations of its rise to this day. THY accelerated its growth process with the investments made in the 2000s, the routes opened, the expanding flight network and the fleet.
